En ce dimanche 3 avril, et après plusieurs mois d’hibernation, j’ai à nouveau enfourché ma moto pour ma première randonnée printanière en compagnie de mon club, les HAWKS MC, Liban.
Nous étions plus de 40 motards au départ de Jnah. À 10h00 précises, nous avons démarré en file indienne à destination de Saïda que nous avons atteint 35 minutes plus tard. Une petite pause de quelques minutes au bord de la mer, sous un ciel voilé et une température douce avoisinant les 20 degrés, avant d’emprunter la route qui longe le vieux port où nous avons pu admirer la Citadelle avant de poursuivre notre chemin durant 15 minutes et d’entamer notre ascension vers Msayleh, Zefta, puis Aaishiyi où nous avons effectué notre seconde pause (café/rafraîchissements) à l’ombre de pins parasols. A l’est, les cimes majestueuses et encore enneigées du Mont Liban nous faisaient un clin d’œil.
Une demie heure plus tard, nous avons inauguré la seconde partie de notre itinéraire et nous sommes dirigés vers Jezzine, puis avons parcouru une route avec vue unique et remarquable sur la vallée (à ne pas rater) avant de traverser Bater, Amatour puis Moukhtara que nous avons atteints à 13h00. Affamés, nous avons dégusté des manakeesh au feu de bois dans une boulangerie pittoresque, où le café nous fut offert. Digne tradition de notre montagne libanaise et de la légendaire hospitalité de ses habitants.
Une heure plus tard, nous avons entamé la troisième partie de notre parcours en nous dirigeant vers Barouk, Ayn Zhalta, Ayn Dara jusqu’à atteindre la route internationale, pour redescendre ensuite vers Hammana. À notre gauche, s’étendait la belle vallée de Lamartine qui scintillait sous un soleil rayonnant. Puis ce fut Ras el Metn où nous nous arrêtâmes quelques minutes pour nous dégourdir les jambes et nous désaltérer. Quelques minutes après, nous continuâmes notre promenade à travers une route sinueuse bordée de pins jusqu’à atteindre Monteverde puis Beyrouth que nous atteignîmes à 16h10.
Une expédition de 205 kilomètres, et une organisation des plus parfaites grâce au professionnalisme et à la diligence de notre capitaine Nagib, de notre Chief Road Marshal Rabih, ainsi que des marshals Ayman, Marwan, Leo, Hamza et Ribal.
À la prochaine donc pour une nouvelle aventure à travers les belles régions de notre Liban !

On this Sunday, April 3, and after several months of hibernation, I got on my bike again for my first spring ride with my club, the HAWKS MC, Lebanon.
We were more than 40 bikers who left Jnah at 10:00 am sharp, cruising along the southern coastal road until Saïda, that we reached 10:35. A short break of a few minutes by the sea, under a veiled sky and a mild temperature of around 20 degrees, before taking again the road that runs along the old port where we were able to admire the Citadel before continuing our journey for 15 minutes before starting our ascent towards Msayleh, Zeftathen Aaishiyi where we took our second break (coffee/refreshments) in the shade of umbrella pines. To the east, the majestic and still snow-capped peaks of Mount Lebanon winked at us.
Half an hour later, we inaugurated the second part of our itinerary and headed towards Jezzine then drove through a road with a unique and remarkable view of the valley (not to be missed) before crossing Bater, Amatour then Moukhtara that we reached at 1:00 p.m.
Hungry, we tasted manakeesh baked on wood fire in a picturesque bakery, where coffee was offered to us. A true indication of the legendary hospitality of Mount Lebanon’s inhabitants.
An hour later, we started the third part of our journey heading towards Barouk, Ayn Zhalta, Ayn Dara until we reached the international road, then descended towards Hammana. To our left stretched the beautiful valley of Lamartine, which shimmered under a radiant sun. Then it was Ras el Metn where we stopped for a few minutes to stretch our legs and quench our thirst. A few minutes later, we continued our ride through a winding road lined with pine trees until we reached Monteverde and then Beirut, that we reached at 4:10 p.m.
A 205 kilometers expedition, and a most perfect organization thanks to the professionalism and diligence of our captain Nagib, our chief road marshal Rabih, and our valuable marshals Ayman, Marwan, Leo, Hamza and Ribal.
